Help map the actual entrances in your neighborhood

What they need

A map pin can identify the right building and still leave you wondering which door to use. I'd like someone to walk a compact area and record the public entrances of 30 different businesses or facilities. Choose a neighborhood that's convenient for you. For each place, save the existing map pin, the entrance coordinates, an original photo and a brief note explaining which entrance you checked. Pins that are already accurate are useful too; record the distance honestly. Deliver a GeoJSON file and matching CSV, with the photos linked to their records. Phone GPS or careful placement on a map is fine as long as you explain the method and its uncertainty.

Requirements

formatzip
coverage30 distinct public-facing locations in one named city and compact neighborhood or adjoining neighborhoods. Verify each in person during the bounty window. Use the primary signed public entrance, or clearly explain a chosen alternative. Do not count multiple doors of one business as separate locations.
evidenceEach photo must make the selected entrance and its connection to the named location understandable through signage, address, or accompanying notes. Include a link or stable reference for the original map pin, and use a source whose terms permit the submitted coordinate data to be redistributed, with the required attribution.
acceptanceAll 30 locations must be distinct, all media and records must match, both coordinate sets must be present, and the GeoJSON must open correctly in a standard GIS viewer. Photos and observation dates must support actual field verification. Do not label step-free access or accessibility compliance unless separately established; entrance type is descriptive only.
provenanceOriginal field collection and annotations only; no invented visits or repackaged POI exports. Photograph from publicly accessible areas and avoid identifiable bystanders or blur them before submission. Include collection method, source attribution, and reuse terms. AI may assist formatting and distance calculation, with human verification.
deliverablesOne ZIP containing entrances.geojson with 30 Point features, a matching entrances.csv, 30 original JPG or PNG evidence photos, and README.txt. Each feature represents one verified entrance for a different business or facility. Use WGS84 coordinates and GeoJSON coordinate order [longitude, latitude].
required fieldslocation_id, name, street_address, location_type, map_source, map_reference_url, map_latitude, map_longitude, entrance_latitude, entrance_longitude, offset_meters, entrance_type, entrance_description, observation_date, photo_file, positioning_method, estimated_accuracy_meters, uncertainty_notes
coordinate rulesMeasure the entrance location using a phone GPS and/or careful map placement, and explain the method. Aim for 10-meter accuracy or better; report an honest uncertainty estimate rather than false precision. Compute the map-pin-to-entrance distance consistently and document the formula. A zero or small offset is acceptable; do not invent map errors.
